6 More COVID-19 Deaths Reported On Thursday In Shasta County

Despite great progress, coronavirus is still killing people. Another 6 Shasta County residents have died, for a total of 188. The latest to die were a man in his 50’s, two women in their 80’s and a man and woman over the age of 89. 14 new cases have been reported, and 1,090 negative tests. The updated total number of cases so far is 11,163. An estimated 110 people have the virus right now, 9 of them hospitalized and 4 in intensive care.

Workers in restaurants, grocery stores and food banks are now eligible to receive vaccine.

Several first dose and second dose vaccination clinics are set for the next few weeks. Information is available at shastaready.org under “Vaccinations”. It can take as long as 8 weeks to gain the full benefits of vaccination.

Tehama County has reported 5,146 cases and 53 deaths.
There have been 377 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,826 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 14 deaths.
Butte County has reported 170 deaths among their 10,897 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,033 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,596 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,335 cases and 34 deaths.
Modoc County has had 463 cases and 4 deaths.

President Biden is directing states to make all American adults eligible for a coronavirus vaccine no later than May 1. He says there is a good chance Americans will be able to safely gather in small groups by the 4th of July 4.
