An earthquake that struck north of Lake Shasta over the weekend was felt as far away as Whitmore. At 9:57PM Saturday night the 2.7 magnitude quake was detected near Lakehead at a depth of only one mile. There was no damage, but dozens of people reported feeling it in Lakehead and the Shasta Lake City area.
