Shasta County Reports 200th COVID-19 Death, But No ICU Patients In Area Hospitals

Another Shasta County man has died of Covid. The 200th death was a man in his 60s. Another 20 cases were reported from Sunday and Monday, along with 227 negative tests. The total number of cases so far is 11,199. An estimated 107 people have the virus right now, 9 of them hospitalized and nobody in intensive care. Cases continue to decline, with the daily case rate dropping from 5 to 4.5 per 100,000 residents.

Shasta County remains in the red tier, but Trinity and Lassen Counties have both improved to the orange tier.

Tehama County has reported 5,240 cases and 54 deaths.
There have been 385 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,858 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 15 deaths.
Butte County has reported 173 deaths among their 11,012 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,039 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,598 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,426 cases and 34 deaths.
Modoc County has had 469 cases and 4 deaths.

The White House says 27 million doses of coronavirus vaccines will be distributed next week.
