Cesar Chavez Day is next Wednesday and a local coalition of groups will celebrate the United Farm Workers founder with an event this Sunday to gather donations for struggling local farmworkers. Ballet Folklorico from Tehama County will provide entertainment and a Churro truck will be there. Organizers are asking for donations of hooded sweatshirts, hats, gloves, socks, bandanas, neck coolers, water containers, masks, reflective vests, and work boots. Monetary donations will be processed by Shasta County Citizens Advocating Respect. The event is Sunday from 1PM to 3PM on Park Marina Drive near the old Movies 8 theater.
