Vaccine Clinic Planned For Friday At Shasta College

Shasta County Public Health says there’s a lot of available appointments for a vaccination clinic at Shasta College on Friday. People who qualify right now include people who work in restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, convenience stores, pet stores, take-out and delivery, farmers, janitors, educators, veterinarians, healthcare workers, sawmill and lumber workers, animal control, security, emergency personnel, and anyone who supports any of these types of businesses who’s over 16, even in perfect health. More than 26% of the U.S. population has received at least one dose of a Coronavirus vaccine. California is expanding vaccine eligibility to anyone 50 and over starting in April and anyone 16 and over on April 15.

Coronavirus cases continue to drop sharply, with just 12 new cases reported in Shasta County, along with 729 negative tests. The death toll remains at 200. The total number of cases so far is 11,319. An estimated 74 people have the virus right now, with just 3 of them hospitalized and nobody in intensive care.

Tehama County has reported 5,255 cases and 54 deaths.
There have been 386 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,865 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 15 deaths.
Butte County has reported 177 deaths among their 11,048 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,039 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,598 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,441 cases and 34 deaths.
Modoc County has had 472 cases and 4 deaths.

Appointments are available this week for first dose vaccination clinics. There’s no cost to receive a vaccine. Details are at shastaready.org under “Vaccinations”.
