24 new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Shasta County from Sunday and Monday, along with 308 negative tests. There have been 11,389 confirmed cases so far. The death toll remains at 204. An estimated 89 people have the virus right now, 9 of them hospitalized and nobody in intensive care.
Shasta County’s daily case rate has increased from 4.5 to 5.1 per 100,000 residents. Healthcare experts fear another surge of infections as new cases have increased across the U.S. from just over 55,000 a day to almost 66,000 a day.
Live outdoor events with audiences can resume starting April 1st in Shasta County with a maximum of 20% of the venue capacity. Crowds must be California residents with advance reservations.
Vaccine is available in Shasta County to anyone age 50 and over starting Thursday and anyone 16 and over on April 15th. Appointments for vaccination can be made at shastaready.org.
Butte, Modoc and Colusa counties have improved to the orange tier of restrictions.
Tehama County has reported 5,292 cases and 54 deaths.
There have been 391 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,878 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 16 deaths.
Butte County has reported 178 deaths among their 11,086 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,059 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,594 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,476 cases and 36 deaths.
Modoc County has had 474 cases and 4 deaths.
