Cal-Fire is investigating the cause of a series of small fires that broke out on Sierra Pacific land in Trinity County. The five fires were contained Tuesday evening. The largest of them was about 2 acres and they totaled less than five acres, but the very visible smoke caused ripples of fear in Weaverville. The fires were burning east of town near Ransom Road and Browns Creek Road.
