Truck Stop Employees Credited With Saving Man’s Life

The CHP and Corning Police are praising the actions of employees at a Corning truck stop who helped save a man’s life. On March 20th a Chevy Colorado pickup driven by Ronald Estes of Orland was northbound on highway 99W just south of South Avenue when Ahmad Ally of Seattle walked onto the roadway directly into the path of the pickup. When officers arrived, Ally was pinned beneath the pickup with severe injuries. The crew of the nearby T/A Truck Stop sprang into action, using air jacks and a service truck to quickly and gently lift the truck off of the man’s body. Ally was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Red Bluff.
