Cameron Hooker’s Early Release Hearing Delayed Until May

A hearing has been delayed for a man who kept a woman locked in a box in Red Bluff nearly every day for 7 years. In 1984 Colleen Stan escaped from Cameron Hooker, who had been raping her, torturing her and holding her in a wooden box since 1977. He was sentenced to 104 years in prison but sentencing reform laws have made it possible for hooker to be paroled in September. A hearing in San Mateo County that was to be held this week would have Hooker declared a sexually violent predator, making it easier to keep him behind bars. That hearing has been delayed until May 25th.
