Redding Police were in a standoff on Saturday with a man who was reportedly was waving a fake gun at people. About 3PM Saturday officers were called to the area of Placer and Pleasant Street and found 32-year-old Ronald Turner sitting under a tree with a handgun in his waistband. Officers say at the time he seemed agitated and would not follow officers commands. Officers called in the new armored vehicle and began negotiating with Turner. After about 45 minutes Turner surrendered and was taken into custody. Officers determined the gun was a replica with no orange safety markings. Turner was booked into jail on a number of charges.
