The Forest Service is reporting minimal fire activity on a fire burning in a remote area of Siskyiou County. The Elk Fire was 50% contained as of Wednesday night and has burned about 50 acres. The fire is burning about 7 miles southeast of Happy Camp. About 200 fire personnel are are working to construct fire line and mop up.
