Anderson Man Arrested After Reportedly Kidnapping Young Child In Oregon

The kidnapping of a baby from Southern Oregon by an Anderson man ended a little south of the state line, according to the CHP. Just after 10AM Friday morning, Yreka Area CHP got word from Ashland Police that a 17-month-old child had been kidnapped and was believed to be southbound on Interstate 5 in a silver Chrysler 300 driven by 37-year-old Desmond Thomas Cloyd of Anderson. Officers say they found Cloyd behind a Cal-Trans building near Hilt, and the baby was in the car unharmed. The mother was called, and she came to scene to be reunited. Cloyd, whose relationship to the child was not disclosed, faces multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, child abduction and disobeying a court order.
