A Red Bluff man has been sentenced for beating a man because of his “MAGA” hat. Last September the 77-year-old victim had business at the Red Bluff Post Office on Walnut Street. He was wearing a Donald Trump “Make America Great Again” hat. When a passing Marine complimented the hat, 26-year-old Daniel Gomez-Martinez objected, saying -quote-“My brother is a Marine, we don’t like your kind.” -unquote- Martinez then flipped the hat off the man’s head and punched him in the face before pulling him to the ground and punching him 6 more times. Martinez has been sentenced to 2 years probation and timed served, which is about 4 months in jail.
