COVID-19 Case Rate Continues To Edge Upward In Shasta County

Shasta County’s covid death toll late last week remained at 220. Another 21 cases brought the total so far to 11,901. On the same day there were 1,198 negative tests. An estimated 131 people have the virus right now, 10 people are hospitalized and 4 are in intensive care.

Public Health says serious side affects from any of the vaccines are extremely rare.

Tehama County has reported 5,527 cases and 58 deaths.
There have been 398 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
2,071 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 21 deaths.
Butte County has reported 181 deaths among their 11,613 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,098 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,593 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,852 cases and 38 deaths.
Modoc County has had 493 cases and 4 deaths.

The Transportation Security Administration has extended a requirement that passengers on planes, trains and buses wear face masks through September 13th.

About 8% of Americans who have received one dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines have not returned for their second shot.
