Majority Of New COVID-19 Cases In Shasta County Among Younger People

Shasta County’s covid death toll remains at 220 following another 35 cases from Friday and Saturday, as well as 1,245 negative tests. The total number of cases so far is 11936. An estimated 140 people have the virus right now, 11 people are hospitalized and 1 is in intensive care.

A greater majority of Shasta County’s cases have been showing up in people in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

2,110 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 21 deaths.
Butte County has reported 182 deaths among their 11,660 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,098 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,593 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,885 cases and 38 deaths.
Modoc County has had 493 cases and 4 deaths.

The Transportation Security Administration has extended a requirement that passengers on planes, trains and buses wear face masks through September 13th.
