The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is transitioning to an online-only process for concealed weapons permits. The requirements for fingerprinting and background checks will remain the same, but applications will be strictly electronic and required documents can be scanned or photographed. The interview process will be, in many cases, done virtually. The last day forms will be accepted in the Sheriff’s Office drop box is this Friday, and the new system goes online Monday at shastasheriff.org.
