Cal-Fire Will End Ban Burning On Monday

All burning will be banned starting Monday in the Shasta/Trinity Cal-Fire jurisdiction. Every year, fire season starts earlier and ends later, largely due to climate change. Last year was the most destructive fire season in California history. With a massive amount of dead grass and other flashy fuels, the decision has been made to ban all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris. Since the start of the year, Cal-Fire has already responded to more than 1800 wildfires around the state. Residents are urged to protect their homes by carefully clearing excessive vegetation from a 100 foot diameter. Tips are at readyforwildfire.org.
