Update: Serial Killer Charged For Additional Murder

An Oroville tree trimmer accused of being a serial killer is suspected in a deadly attack last year on an elderly Los Molinos couple. Last May 23rd, Tehama County Deputies were called to a home on Josephine Avenue after 91-year-old Homer Severs, suffering from a stab wound, made it to a neighboring family member’s home. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital and rushed into surgery. His wife, 88-year-old Loreen Severs, was found in the couple’s home dead with a stab wound to her upper torso. No suspects were identified at the time, nor was a motive known. Homer died in December of an unrelated illness. 37-year-old Ryan Scott Blinston had been a member of a tree trimming crew that was at the Severs home 5 days earlier. He was arrested in June for the brutal murders of two Oroville women and the attempted murder of a man that was interrupted by a SWAT Team who had arrived just in time. It didn’t take long for detectives to make a connection to the attack in Los Molinos. Blinston was arraigned again Thursday for the additional charges.
