Crews Contain Numerous Fires After Weekend Lightning Storm

Lightning over the weekend left a number of storms in its wake. Many of the fires on the vast Shasta-Trinity National Forest are just single trees or a tenth of an acre, and many are only accessible by smoke jumpers. There are several burning around Trinity Lake. In the Cal-Fire jurisdiction, there were several lightning fires in the Oak Run and Backbone Ridge area, and about 10 acres burned off Ritts Mill Road near Shingletown.
