The City of Redding and Shasta EDC are celebrating the arrival of a new airline in Redding that will initially offer super low fares. Avelo Airlines will land at Redding Municipal Airport on Thursday. Initial flights between Redding and Burbank will be just $19 each way. These planes are no puddle-jumpers. They’ll be flying in Boeing 737s with 189 seats. Redding is among the first destinations for Avelo, seen as a historically under-served market that’s prime for delivering people from high-density areas to escape to the great outdoors.
