It’s been a year since the Redding City Council approved a new Costco location at the corner of South Bonnyview and Bechelli Lane. On Tuesday night they voted to accept a petition distributed by Costco with well over the 5,617 signatures needed to qualify if for a special election, but the council, not wanting to bear that cost, voted instead to accept the petition as is, effectively sealing the deal for the second time. When ground will be broken on the new Costco is still anyone’s guess.
