Major Injury Crash On Highway 299 Sends 3 To The Hospital

An elderly woman and a couple of teenagers were hospitalized after a crash in Trinity County. At 10:35AM Friday morning, a 67-year-old woman in a Toyota was pulling out of the Burnt Ranch Post Office parking lot to go west on Highway 299 and failed to notice an approaching Dodge pickup, which struck the left front of her Toyota. The woman and a 17-year-old girl in the Dodge both suffered major injuries and were taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Redding. A 13-year-old boy in the Dodge was taken to Mad River Hospital with moderate injuries. The 18-year-old male driver was not injured. The occupants of the Dodge were all from Willow Creek.
