RPD: Man Runs Roadblock, Strikes Cadet With Vehicle

An impatient driver ran a roadblock in North Redding and struck a police cadet. Saturday afternoon there was a minor traffic collision at North Point Drive and Redwood Boulevard and the road was closed by Redding Police. 27-year-old Bryce Webb was a passenger in a car that was stopped. He apparently became upset at having to wait and got into the driver’s seat. Police say he ran the roadblock and accelerated toward a police cadet and then slammed on the brakes. The cadet tried to get out of the way but the bumper made contact. Webb reportedly fled but officers found him at his nearby home and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon and DUI. The cadet was not injured.
