CHP: Driver Ejected During DUI Crash In Sisikyou County

The CHP says a Montague man was drunk, upset, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt when he crashed his car early Thursday morning in Siskiyou County. At 3:30AM the Sheriff’s Office and the CHP responded for a disturbing the peace call on North 9th Street in Montague. When they arrived officers were told that the problem involved 26-year-old Aaron Burlew, who they said was intoxicated and had already left. A short time later, an Acura driven by Burlew was seen at very high speed turning onto Highway 3 and then onto Ager Road. The CHP tried to catch up to him but as the Acura approached Shelley Road, Burlew lost control and left the pavement, rolling over several times. Burlew was ejected and suffered major injuries. He was taken to Fairchild Medical Center and then flown to Mercy in Redding. He was also arrested for DUI.
