The Pine Fire burning in the Happy Valley area is fully contained. The fire started around 1:45PM Wednesday afternoon by a lawn mower, according to Cal-Fire near Pine Meadow Place and Cloverdale Road. Forward progress on the fire was stopped just after 3:30PM Wednesday after it burned 50 acres. 8 structures have been destroyed.
The Cow Fire east of Millville is now 85% contained, still at 761 acres. The fire was sparked Sunday afternoon by hot pieces of a disintegrating catalytic convertor spewing from the tailpipe of a car, according to Cal-Fire investigators. The Cow Fire is off South Cow Creek Road and Highway 44. two structures were destroyed. One firefighter has been injured.
