Redding Fire Department battled a residential structure fire Monday night on Railroad Avenue. At 10:20PM, crews arrived to find a detached garage fully involved in flames, which were spreading to the main house. A second alarm was called and the fire was under control within 30 minutes. The man who lives there, the only resident, was hospitalized with minor burns he suffered while trying to put the fire out. Damage is estimated at $50,000 to the structures and another $10,000 damage to contents.
