Shasta County residents are reminded to drain standing water in their yards, as signs of West Nile Virus have shown up. Positive West Nile mosquito samples have been found in the Anderson and Shingletown areas. They’ve shown up earlier than in previous years. Another Invasive mosquito has also been found in Redding. The “Aedes Aegypti” is concerning because it can carry Zika, Dengue Fever and Chikungunya. A lot of information is at shastamosquito.org.
