A man was killed while walking on a remote roadway in Trinity County Monday night. At around 9:30PM, a 59-year-old man from Hayfork was driving 2002 Dodge pickup southbound on Highway 3 near Wildwood Road when he struck the pedestrian. The victim’s age and hometown are unknown, but the CHP apparently knows his name, which is withheld until family is notified. After the collision, the driver remained on scene and waited for law enforcement to arrive. The CHP says it’s not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor. They’re asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has knowledge of where the man was walking from, to contact them at 623-3832.
