REU Begins Annual Infrared Inspections On Wednesday

People should not be suspicious of slow moving utility trucks moving through their neighborhoods with a camera stuck out the window. Starting Wednesday Redding Electric Utility is doing their annual patrol and infrared inspection of their lines and facilities. A high resolution thermal imaging camera is being used to scan the electric lines, transformers and other components of the grid in order to detect potential problems before they get worse. The inspection process continues through the end of August.
