Crews Gain More Containment On Large Siskiyou County Fires

All evacuation warnings for the Lava Fire in Siskiyou County have been lifted. The Lava Fire is still estimated at 25,159 acres. It stretches from the Mount Shasta Vistas in the north to the slopes of Mount Shasta in the south. It’s 70% contained. There’s still no information available about structural damage.

25 miles up Highway 97 from the Lava Fire is the Tennant Fire, which is now just burning dead and downed fuels from previous fires. The Tennant Fire is estimated at 10,580 acres with 91% containment.
