Update: 4 People Killed After Plane Crashes Along Highway 36

4 people were killed in a plane crash near Dinsmore, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The fixed wing aircraft apparently crashed near the Dinsmore Airport, which is along Highway 36 between the coast and Red Bluff, just before Noon Thursday. The plane caught fire after the crash and fire crews kept it from spreading to nearby vegetation. On Friday the sheriff’s office reported that the remains of the 4 people on board were recovered. The 4 people killed were all from Southern California. The NTSB and FAA are working with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office to determine why the plane went down.
