Public’s Input Needed During Virtual Public Hearing On Statewide Redistricting Plan

One of the most important effects of the 10 year census is the redrawing of legislative districts. As the California Redistricting Commission goes about the process, they’re required to follow several criteria. Most are fairly easy to achieve, but what the commission really needs help with is identifying “communities of interest”, which generally is defined by the cultural and material aspects of a community that ties it together. Public input is essential, and Tuesday will be an opportunity to make a difference in the decision making process. A virtual public hearing will take place from 4PM to 8PM Tuesday. Information on participating is available at crc.ca.gov.
