A Weaverville man is accused of intentionally running into someone with his car. At 5 O’clock Friday afternoon Trinity County Deputies and the CHP were called to Lee Fong Park, where they found a badly injured pedestrian. There was also an unoccupied vehicle high-centered on some large rocks. The injured man said that was the vehicle that hit him, and he said the driver was 39-year-old Jason Ryan, who had fled on foot. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Meanwhile, deputies found Ryan at a nearby home and questioned him. He reportedly admitted to intentionally striking the victim with the car, and said he fled the scene because he was afraid of going to jail. That’s where he was taken, charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury and felony hit-and-run.
