There’s a murder investigation underway in Yreka. At 7 O’clock last Thursday evening Yreka Police were called to the Speedway Express, a gas station and convenience store on North Main Street. Officers arrived to find a man in the parking lot dead of a gunshot wound. Apparently the 37-year-old victim had been in some sort of altercation with a 17-year-old boy when the teen shot the older man. The dead man’s identity has not been released, pending notification of family, and the accused shooter’s name has not been released because he’s a juvenile.
