A Cottonwood woman accused of killing a bicyclist with her pickup truck and then fleeing the scene has been arraigned. 65-year-old Michael Don Strausbaugh of Anderson was riding a bicycle on Gas Point Road near Happy Valley Road on May 25th when he was struck and killed. A tip led to an arrest the following day of 26-year-old Victoria Michel McDaniel. She’s charged with felony hit-and-run causing death, as well as two misdemeanors: vehicular manslaughter and destroying evidence. She pleaded not guilty on Friday. Her preliminary hearing is late next month.
